After a solid debut at the Stanley Film Festival in 2015, SUN CHOKE was a film to watch as it traversed the festival scene throughout 2015. Alas, the film didn’t quite catch fire with distributors immediately as some terror titles, with the film making FANGO’s Top 10 potential 2016 releases not long ago. However, that has all changed today asDeadline confirms that FANGO friend XLrator Media has acquired distribution rights to the psychological slow-burn thriller.
Directed by first-time feature helmer Ben Cresciman, XLrator Media is reportedly set to release SUN CHOKE via their “Macabre” label this summer. The film revolves around a troubled young woman whose experimental therapy goes awry, and stars Sarah Hagan (BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER), Sara Malakul Lane (SCOUTS GUIDE TO THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE) and Barbara Crampton (RE-ANIMATOR).
